In the years before the Absolute Crisis, Karaxus had been focusing on a different strategy to win Bhaal's approval. While his blood-siblings waded ever deeper into dark rivers of blood and gore, Karaxus focused on the other aspect of carrying Bhaal's divine blood: breeding more Bhaalspawn. Even prior to losing his memory at Orin's hands, Karaxus had already sired several whelps of his own; his very own Bhaalspawn, inflicted upon the unfortunates of Baldur's Gate's more miserable slums.

That had always been something of a point of pride for Karaxus during those years: that he was a breeder, a farmer of Bhaalspawn, and he refused to let his divine seed - and by proxy his father's seed - go to waste.
